The Plan of Salvation according to God’s Word, the Bible.

You can know if you are going to heaven.

I John 5:13

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

Heaven is a FREE gift.

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Heaven is not earned or deserved because of what we are – sinners.

Romans 3:10-12

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Romans 3:23

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

We cannot save ourselves or get to heaven by good works.

Ephesians 2:8&9

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Titus 3:5

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.

But God loves us and doesn’t want to punish us.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

But God is also holy and just and must punish our sin. He cannot tolerate sin.

Exodus 34:7

Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.

I Peter 1:16

Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

But God sent His Son, Jesus Christ to pay the price for our sins by His death. Jesus did not stay dead, but rose from the dead and went back to heaven to prepare a place for ALL who accept His FREE gift of salvation.

Isaiah 53:6

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

I Peter 2:24

Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

God’s free gift of salvation can be received by faith. Faith is trusting in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. This is not just knowing the facts, but actually believing it. We must realize that we are sinners and can’t earn salvation.

John 1:12

But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.
